THE WHITE LIGHTNING
ELECTRIC POWERED LAND SPEED RECORD ATTEMPT CAR

Pat Rummerfield, 42, WRPA's WHITE LIGHTNING Driver, ready for action at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Be sure to read about Pat at the WHITE LIGHTNING Web Site. Pat is a recovered Quadrapalegic who has quite an interesting life story and many triumphs since he was earlier totally crippled in what can only be termed another dumb car accident.

Pat uses a parachute to slow WHITE LIGHTNING down after a high speed test run.

The end of another succesful licensing run! Time to pack up the Parachute, recharge the batteries and try for the next level. Driver licensing requires demonstrating successful safe runs at ever increasing speeds. Starting from a run with a speed held between 125 and 150 MPH, the driver must make passes in successive 25 MPH brackets. Pat received his Class "A" license after his 237 MPH run - the fourth time he ever drove the car!
